 Free Early Learning for 2, 3 and 4 year olds

We offer Free Early Years Education Funded Places.  Your child is eligible for 15 hours a week starting the term after their third birthday.  Please contact the practice manager Victoria Mekni for more information.

Funded placed will be offered to families receiving one of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit but not entitled to Working Tax Credit and annual income less than £16,190 
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and  Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit during the 4 week period immediately after their employment finishes or after they start to work less than 16 hours per week.

The earliest a child can be funded is the term after their second birthday .

Important information for parents of 3 and 4 year olds.

From April 2015 Acton Playgroup could claim more funding to support your child's learning and development. The money is from the government's new Early Years Pupil Premium.

If your child has free early education and you meet the criteria, we could claim up to £300 per year. Please look out for more infomration with your next grant funding claim pack.

The extra money could make a big difference to our setting.

BUSY BAGS      BUSY  BAGS

To encourage our parent partnerships and to support our parents with the understanding of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), Louise has compiled a selection of Busy Bags containing different activities based on the EYFS which are available for you to borrow and to support your child with their learning at home.

The Busy Bags are available in the following areas:-

*  People who help us--supporting communication and language

*  Superheroes--imaginative play and communication

*  Jack and the Beanstalk-- fine motor skills

*  The Hungry Caterpillar-- numeracy and healthy eating

*  The Big Bad Wolf-- literacy

*  Aliens Love Underpants-- literacy amd communication

*  Stick Man -- expressive arts

*  Humpty Dumpty-- literacy

*  Hedgehogs--numeracy

*  Caterpillar Number Ordering--numeracy

* Measure Bag-- shape,space and measure

Please ask a member of ataff if you would like to borrow one at any time.

BRITISH VALUES

At Acton Playgroup we actively promote the teaching of British Values.

We teach the children to be kind,helpful and respectful of others.

We teach the children to be part of the local community.

We celebrate festivals and mark special days and occasions . Listed are some of the special dates we celebrate in Britain.--- Valentines Day, Easter,Christmas,Pancake Day (Mardi Gras), Mothers Day, Fathers Day, St Georges Day, The Queens Birthday,Bonfire Night,Rememberance Day and Harvest.

We teach the children about compromise and how to play and work together.

We also encourage good table manners,being polite,saying please and thank you,listening during story time and taking turns.

We teach children to listen and respect others

We learn and talk about British weather and the seasons

We teach children about Britain, celebratring the work of british authors,illustrators and musicians and we actively promote dance and drama.
