29/01/2019 - What we are up to...

To start the new term and the new year we had a special delivery of our new tables and chairs.

Many parents and grandparents joined us on our autumnal/harvest walk to the church. We all wore our hi-vis vests and on our walk we looked out for landmarks which were displayed on our maps. When we arrived at the church we donated our harvest gifts and then enjoyed a walk outside the church looking for conkers and leaves.

During our Harvest Stay and Play the children had the opportunity to take part in many different activities with their parents/carers. The children enjoyed the spaghetti spider web and creating neckalces with coloured pasta.

The children also had fun exploring the forest at school............

The Rev. Caroline came to talk to us about Christingle, explaining that the orange represents the world, the red ribbon the blood of Christ, the sticks represent  the 4 seasons and the candle signifies that Jesus is the light of the world.

CHRISTMAS 2018............

Preparing for Christmas..... The children all wrote their letters to Father Christmas and then went to post them in the special post box.

Nativity and Christmas celebratons........ Our older children all took part in our nativity in All Saints Church - Acton. The children were all amazing, giving their family and friends a great performance. They looked great in their costumes and the singing and signing was fantastic.

Our younger children then joined us for celebrations in the Village Hall where they got to meet a special visitor.......

Staff pantomime..... Snow White and the 3 Diva's........

The panto was based on the traditional story of Snow White but was adapted by Jo to tell the story of the real life encounters and to incorporate the characteristics of the playgroup staff.
Kim played the wicked queen, Becci was Snow White,  Jo played the huntsman and the prince,  Tasha, Louise and Nicki were the 3 Diva's and Victoria played a very colourful Widow Twanky.

The children were all given the chance to join in with the dancing and our HI HO  song.  To finish with we had a party to celebrate Kim's special birthday.
