On Wednesday October 18th 2023 our Wednesday morning children and their parents and carers along with the staff walked to The Acton Nature Reserve. The children observed the autumnal colour changes and took part in a search for leaves,conkers,twigs and stones.
The children also searched for vegetables such as carrots,potatoes,parsnips and cauliflowers that had been hidden around the reserve by the staff. During the afternoon,once back in playgroup, the chilren used these vegetables to make vegetable soup.
The children also pretended to be birds,using their pincer fingers, to collect string worms from around the reserve. We finished the morning with a music and movement song.
