During science week the children took part in many different activities and experiments. We created lava lamps, volcanoes with overflowing lava, walking water and rain clouds. The children made jelly with cubes and crystals observing the changes from a solid to a liquid and then make to a solid again. The children also observed what happened when skittle sweets were placed in lemonade and experimented with magnets and ice.
We finished the week with a science stay and play session when we were joined by mummies, daddies, sisters and grandparents to take part in the experiments. One brave mummy laid on the floor under a bag of water whilst Jo pushed pencils through the bag. Fortunately she didn't get wet as the pencils prevented the water from leaking out by blocking the holes.
The children also learnt about the environment and where different animals live - either on the land, in the water or both. We raised awareness too of the pollutiuon in our oceans and the importance of recycling.
