The children have been given the opportunity to particiapte in many autumnal activities including creating their own pizzas, preparing the vegetables for our soup, an autumnal walk to the church to observe the changes and to think a little about harvest and also the children have spent time in our forest area exploring and learning about boundaries .
In the forest the children independently explored the surroundings, learnt our forest song, searched for woodland creatures, upturned the logs to find mini-beasts, made mud faces and had fun in the hammock.
The children were able to develop their chopping, grating, peeling and mixing skills as they explored the various ingredients and vegetables to create their pizzas and our vegetable soup.
On October 21st our Thursday morning children and their parents/carers walked to Acton Church from playgroup. It was rather a wet and cold start to our walk but the sun soon came out and the children were able to carry out the activities in and around the church. The children were introduced to The Rev Faith and she had hidden many fruits and vegetables in the church grounds for the children to find before we had a little think about what they needed to be able to grow... rain and sunshine....and how God sends the rain and the sun.
The children also observed the many diffrerent autumnal colours and created a caterpillar using the leaves they found.
