24/04/2024 - What we are up to...

At the end of January we celebrated Australia Day with a visit from a real Australian who demonstrated to us how to play the didgeridoo.

During February the children celebrated Pancake Day and Chinese New Year. They used many skills...physical, numeracy, literacy, communication and language and extended their understanding of different traditions and cultures.

The children created Chinese lanterns , did some Chinese writing and used chopsticks to sample some Chinese foods.

During March we celebrated World Book and shared many books and stories with the children. The children from year 5 also came to join us to share their books.

A visit from the fire crew..March 28th 2024..we were very fortunate to have a visit from the fire crew and their fire engine. The crew allowed the children to sit inside the engine and to squirt water from the hose..

The children have been doing lots of activities about the importance of looking after our teeth....how long we must brush them for and learning about which foods and drinks are better for our teeth and those that are not. We had a visit from Perfect Smile clinic who demonstrated to us how much sugar there is in certain foods and drinks and also gave us some facts about animals and their teeth. Did you know that a snail has the most teeth of all animals?...it has 14,000 !

Some of our children joined the community warden to go litter picking around the village.
